It is Veteran’s Day today. I rose early to handle much of the household tasks. I gathered from Wendy’s energy that she needed some downtime, so the kids and I stepped up. On the domestic front, it seems strange that some people I know resort to household roles, like a job.  My behaviors are based on awareness and stepping up/to opportunities. I don’t suggest the other way is necessarily wrong, but predefined gender-based roles seem to stunt our growth as a community and families, too. It makes me think about service to others as a whole.
